Throughout this website, the character's names are mentioned as they would appear from their country of origin. The following is a brief overview to explain the standard formats that character's names are generally presented.
Shinguji Sakura - Being Japanese, this means that Sakura's last, or family name comes first. Her surname is Shinguji, while her first name is Sakura. She is (most likely) who the series is named after, being that she is the main character. Sakura often refers to cherry blossoms.
Kanzaki Sumire - Sumire's last name is Kanzaki, and being Japanese, it comes first.
Maria Tachibana - Maria's name is written standardly, first name, then last. Maria is half russian, and half Japanese, but her name is written completely in katakana.
Iris Chateaubriand - Iris' name is written first name, then last. Iris is a cute French girl, and her name is written completely in katakana.
Ri Kohran – Originating from China, Kohran's name is generally presented in the same style as the Japanese. Surname first, first name last.
Kirishima Kanna – Kanna joins the Flower Division from her home in Okinawa, and thus, her name is presented in the Japanese standard of surname first.
Reni Milchstrasse – Reni hails from Germany, and thus her name is presented in the western format of surname last.
Soletta Orihime – Orihime was born in Italy, and is part Japanese on her father’s side. Orihime’s name is most commonly presented surname first.
Ohgami Ichiro – Ohgami is a Japanese native, and his name is presented surname first. All of the girls refer to Ohgami by his last name, except for Iris, who calls him “Oniichan,” or “Big Brother.”
